Governors Welcome

A note from our Governors

The local governing body (LGB) at Manston St James Primary Academy would welcome applications from candidates who can lead our school in its mission, ensuring every child is given the chance to be the best they can be in an environment which is child centred and 'rooted and grounded in love'.

The LGB feel that applicants must lead with compassion, working in a strengths based way, whilst embodying the values that the school and community hold dear. Manston St James is a good school; however, we are striving to be better and feel a strong leader who can build on the strengths of the school is key. Utilising the skills of the team, whilst creating an open, honest, supportive and developmental culture will be key ingredients for candidates.

The LGB at MSJ is well established with a full diverse membership comprising of professionals, staff and parents with a variety of backgrounds, joined as we are by our commitment to provide a high support and high challenge culture.  As an LGB we feel we can play a part in helping the headteacher and school leaders on our continuous improvement journey, striving for excellence in an inclusive way which celebrates diversity in all its forms.

A note from our Trustees

Thank you for your interest in the role of Headteacher at Manston St James C of E Primary Academy, part of Abbey Multi Academy Trust.

Here at Abbey Multi Academy Trust, we pride ourselves on the Partnership approach we take and the Collaboration that exists across our academies to live out our vision and we believe that we offer an inclusive environment in the hope that all our learners can engage and develop.

The Headteacher vacancy at Manston St James is a great opportunity for a leader who can ensure that our Trust Vision is at the heart of their approach and who shares a view that a collaborative approach will not only help to continue to build on the strengths of the Academy but also help them contribute to the success of the Trust as a whole.
